Wednesday, January 21, 2004 Phishing Scams It's been a while when I've read an article in the mainstream press that's as accurate as this one is: Consumers deluged as fake e-mails multiply. The only thing I found 'wrong' with it is the suggestion that corporations will use certificates with email to solve this problem. Seems to me that the phishers can match this with ease ("We had to renew our certificate, click here to accept" or something to that effect). I have to agree with the article, it's practically impossible to tell some of the sophisticated phishing scams from real emails and web sites. Nasty stuff alright! posted by David | 1/21/2004 02:13:00 PM |
