Tuesday, January 13, 2004 More Hacked sites lately I ran across references to this one a while back, but never did see any details as to the site. Seems the savanna.gnu.org site was cracked and they had to do a rebuild of the system, and from this announcment: IMPORTANT: Information Regarding Savannah Restoration for All Users you can see that they also reorganized the security for the systems involved. Another site that I read occassionaly is Just Another Geeks Blog and he reports here in his Still Going entry that he is still rebuilding his server from a kernel crack. Another in a list of remote attacks that break into local accounts to then root the kernel with a local attack. I have to agree with some of the advice that's given here, it's a good read! posted by David | 1/13/2004 03:27:00 PM |
