Here is another Linux distribution server that's been compromised: Gentoo rsync Server Compromised. First, GNU, then Linux Kernel, then Debian, and today Gentoo. This doesn't look like it's coincidence especially when it's happening within a few months. It should be interesting to see, especially with the Debian and Gentoo breakins, what the forensics turns up as to a source for the breakins. Gentoo should also be complimented for it's 1 hour response time from the time of break-in to it being identified. That's awfully fast! They also had an IDS looking at things as well as other logging that doesn't seem compromised.
