Tuesday, July 01, 2003 Found this interesting article over on Slashdot: Ostrich Lessons In Oregon?. The article referenced talks about the use of Linux in the Oregon school system. I found the idea of Linux in the schools refreshing (not that it's novel or anything). Just that it saves on costs (for things that matter like building infrastructure) and it gives the kids a chance to learn that everything in life isn't "push this button". You may have to think a little :). Some of the /. discussion centered on MS -vs- Linux, but I think that is silly; this is about empowerment, period. posted by David | 7/01/2003 02:23:00 PM |
