Friday, May 09, 2003 Well, I can mention this scam even though I've known about it for a few days: First Union Hoax on the Loose. What really is happening here is that the an email message is sent to First Union customers redirecting them to a site where a back-door trojan is installed in their computer, and then they are redirected back to the actual First Union login screen. From one of the email postings on a forum that I've read, other banks have been targeted by this type of scam, or are presently being targeted, so it's not just First Union's problem it's a industry wide issue. posted by David | 5/09/2003 05:44:00 PM |
