I love to see cool things like this: From PlayStation to supercomputer. The article goes over the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's use of 70 PlayStation II machines to make a supercomputer that will run at over 500 billion instructions per second. They used a HP switch in the middle (fast ethernet) to handle the message traffic.
