Monday, May 05, 2003 Here's an interesting commentary from DeClan McCullagh entitled Want to stop spammers? Charge 'em. To curb pollution, we need to figure out how to change a polluter's cost-benefit calculations. The concept sounds ok, but I'm more in favor of changing email so that it involves whitelists instead of blacklists. You want to email me, post a submittal asking for permission, then depending on the answer you receive you can either send me an email or not. This can be cumbersome, but once setup your ok. I don't see this working on a per-message, but maybe on a per calendar quarter/year?? Difficult problem to solve with no easy answers, that's for sure!! posted by David | 5/05/2003 10:57:00 AM |
