Tuesday, May 06, 2003 As a person who deals with security (among other things), some of this article Why You Need To Replace Those Windows 98 And NT Machines rings true. Many of his points are well taken, but it also reminds me that many of these companies (including Gartner) are telling us what to think. Also, the author works for Aberdeen, and there's this reference in the article: At Aberdeen's PC Deals, managed small-business PC prices on our reference desktop -- which includes Windows XP Pro and Office XP Pro licenses -- run from $1,250 to $1,400 this month from the top suppliers.
